How does the Pumani bCPAP work?

The Pumani bCPAP contains two main components that provide pressurized airflow to the patient: the pump and the water bottle. There is a pump inside of the unit that provides the airflow to the patient. There is a water bottle located on the outside of the unit that sets the pressure (in cm of H2O) of the airflow delivered to the patient.

Inside the unit, the pump flow combines with the oxygen flow, and this is known as the ‘total flow.’ The total flow is the flow that is delivered to the patient.

Outside the unit, the water level in the water bottle sets the pressure in the tubing, typically between 5-8 cm H2O. You can increase the pressure level by adding water, or decrease the pressure by removing water.
